QR: Could you please briefly introduce yourself and tell us what your business is about?

Arthur: We’re Aligned Code – a startup focused on developing it’s own products while offering free consultations in mobile web and custom development services. We help businesses to get into mobile world by adapting their existing websites for any mobile devices be it iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Android. We’re also experimenting with connected TV.

Why did you start it? What makes it unique?

I’ve started it because I was always inspired by the mobile web. I envision desktop computers will become devices used by professionals only. This means all companies need to transform their web solutions to cross-platform and cross-devices versions to satisfy visitors and convert them into customers.

It will become a default minimum requirement for the companies in the very near future. We’re unique because we focus on hybrid solutions written with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. That focus allows our clients and our products to cover several platforms with costs just a bit higher than a single native solution.

 

What do you love about being an entrepreneur?

Being an entrepreneur is a lifestyle. You take huge risks and at the same time you’re fully responsible for yourself and people on your team, and, of course, your family.

How do you envision success?

Success is an ongoing process. You can’t just stop and say I’m successful. It’s a process of constant improvement, new challenges, hard work and great joy afterwards 🙂

 

How did you hear about Quote Roller? Why did you decide to try our app?

I started using Quote Roller as an early alpha tester. Even at those times it was quite useful and helpful in the process of proposal creation. Today it has become an easy yet powerful and effective solution to send and track your proposals.

How does Quote Roller help your business?

During the proposal phase you start working really-really hard without actually getting paid. You have checkpoints with the client trying to get his/her requirements, align the work scope, terms and the price.

Let me tell you a story of an ordinary business proposal.

You open your favorite email client to write a neat cover letter. Then you proceed to a pricing chart in another application. You start checking grids and… oh you’ve forgot to add a discount. Now you’re trying to fix the price, but there’re too many lines to change. You decide to open a spreadsheet to modify them in a single bucket and then one more hour is thrown away. OK  the numbers are correct now, content is great but, it appears you’ve forgotten to put those beautiful customer logos on the main page. It’s Word time! You are trying to save it from your customer website, but the logo background is gray and doesn’t fit. You call your designer and realize you’re stuck late in the office alone. Proposal wasn’t sent, your work wasn’t done… I’m frustrated even to write about it, and can’t believe I’ve worked following this approach for a couple of years.
