If you’re in sales, either in management or on the front lines, you’ve created proposals. You’ve spent hours crafting that perfect document with the persuasive language, images, and the right structure. You’ve sent the proposal as an attachment to a professional and compelling email only to never hear back from the prospect. Or even worse, received the “thanks, we’ll compare it to the other four offers we’re looking at” response. Does that sound at all familiar? I know it did for me.
Welcome to a new week! The purpose of this blog is to help you write stellar business proposals, to help you sell and run your business, and to give you updates on the software and business. Well, if you didn’t happen to read TheNextWeb last Thursday, we have some Big News!!
TheNextWeb announced our successful seed funding round of $655,000, with a rockstar team of investors. We’ve also set up our HQ in San Francisco, a short walk from the beach, while we still have an office in Minsk, as well as off-shoots in New York and Barcelona. And we can’t wait for you to see some of the big and small software updates, including forthcoming full-site translations into Spanish and Dutch, that will be popping up over the next month or two. We’re all spending that money to give you what you’ve been asking for.
So much excitement we can hardly stand still! Now, I bet you’re wondering how we got here…
Quote Roller is turning 1 year old! Over 100.000 proposals have been sent. Over half a billion US dollars of business have been proposed and almost $100mln accepted.
Now we have a decent amount of people using the app. Many of our customers thank us for getting their acceptance rate grow 20%. Others are tremendously happy for all those hours saved creating, sending and processing sales proposals. Based on the feedback we save at least 45 minutes on one sales proposal comparing to traditional work in word processors.
We help to sell more, faster. And we are really happy for it.
Here are the results of our work over the last year:

To iterate faster and achieve a better pace we need to change our pricing model. We’ve been trying existing plans and pricing for a year and now it is clear that we have to change it in order to be able to grow the business. Basically it boils down to this… We need to support our current development team and continue to add support staff to assist new and existing users. As you grow, we grow and so we grow together!
We love our customers, we love what we do and want to continue doing it at even better pace.
We want Quote Roller to have a fair price for your business. This is why we would like to get your feedback on the new pricing model, and see which direction we should head.
Quote Roller is building it’s marketing team with people who want to grow with our company, from startup to the super-success we see in our future.
We need a passionate PR & Marketing fellow who can help us to spread the word about Quote Roller. Quote Roller’s positive feedback has shown us all what a bright future it has, so there’s much to talk about. Read more
Quote Roller has always been developed by a distributed team working from various locations. To a large extent, this can be attributed to our strong belief that in today’s world, people can be together without being physically in the same city, building or room. This approach requires a team of people who can stay efficient without anyone looking over their shoulders and a tool that will actually bring all of them together and enable them to communicate their ideas, manage their agenda and track progress. We have always been using our own project management software and have been quite happy with it, but if we had discovered WebPlanner earlier, it could’ve become our number one tool for years! Exciting news are coming together with a new release of Quote Roller – we now integrate with CapsuleCRM, Wrike, Basecamp and pretty much any shopping cart via catalog import and export feature. Hope you’ll have a spare minute to login to your account and check the new features out.
Catalog import and export
As many of you advised and voted via early posted poll, importing and exporting products, services and subscriptions from and to CSV (format supported by major shopping carts and MS Excel) was an important feature to add to Quote Roller. Starting today this feature is active in our proposal application! Please check it out and let us know if there is anything we should fix. Read more
Quote Roller continues to evolve and today we would like to announce 2 major features to our estimating software which have been added to version 1.4 of the app. These features were implemented thanks to the feedback received from our customers. Therefore, if you would like to see any enhancements or changes, please don’t hesitate to email us. Be sure that we are going to put it on our development road map.
After account customization was finished a few weeks ago, we’ve been getting lots of requests to add custom domain support to the Quote Roller. And here we go – yourcompany.quoteroller.com is now something you can easily configure via the settings on your account. Read more
We’ve been really busy for the last month working on some great new features. And today, we’re very excited to finally release some of those features.
We always wanted to cover a full proposal workflow: from creating business proposals to signing them by clients online. That is why we added an electronic signature support. Now your clients can sign proposals online. Drawn signature will be added to PDF document as well. Forget about fax, scanners, emails, printers, etc. Use the Quote Roller to convert your online proposal into a signed document. Read more
More good news is coming from our development team. Now you can import your clients from CSV files. Supported by Microsoft Excel, the comma-separated values file format is a set of file formats used to store tabular data in which numbers and text are stored in plain textual form that can be read in a text editor. Lines in the text file represent rows of a table, and commas in a line separate fields in the tables row.
At this time we only support import from US/UK CSV format. If you have German, Dutch or Russian locale getting semi-colon as a separator versus a comma, please change your regional settings. Read more
We are happy to announce integration with Freshbooks and Highrise CRM. Now you can use Quote Roller in combination with your favorite systems.
At this time our proposal application offers clients import and synchronization. Here is how it works: Read more
